The Pittsburgh Steelers never called the Jacksonville Jaguars recently about potentially trading for quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder), according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. Last week, Ryan Burr of the Big 10 Network reported that the Steelers reached out to the Jags about Lawrence, but sources quickly said there's "no chance" it would happen. Lawrence said on Monday that he won't waive his no-trade clause and won't go to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are at a crossroads at the QB position with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields entering free agency, but they are expected to re-sign one of them this offseason. Although the Jaguars remain without a new general manager, those in the front office apparently remain fully committed to the former first overall pick out of Clemson. Fantasy managers, however, will probably be ignoring him this fall in 12-team, one-QB leagues.

Regarding a recent report from 93.7 The Fan's Andrew Fillipponi that the Pittsburgh Steelers inquired about a trade for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, a Jaguars source said there's "no chance" they will trade Lawrence and called the idea "ridiculous," according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. The Steelers may or may not have reached out to the Jags about Lawrence, but despite an injury-plagued and disappointing season for the 25-year-old in 2024, Jacksonville plans to build around the former first overall pick under new head coach Liam Coen rather than trade him away. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is at a crossroads at the QB position with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields scheduled to hit free agency next month. They are expected to re-sign only one of them. With better health in 2025, Lawrence could be a rebound candidate under Coen after playing in a career-low 10 games last year.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars plan to hire former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, likely as their passing-game coordinator, according to sources. Waldron coached with new Jaguars head coach and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen with the Los Angeles Rams from 2018-20. Before serving as the Bears' offensive coordinator last season, Waldron served as the Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator from 2021-23. He didn't make it through a full season in Chicago and was fired after just nine games. With the Rams, Waldron served as tight ends coach, pass-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2017-20. In Jacksonville, Waldron will work closely with first-time offensive coordinator Grant Udinski to hopefully help quarterback Trevor Lawrence bounce back in 2025.

At his introductory press conference on Monday as the Jacksonville Jaguars' new head coach, Liam Coen said that he plans on building around quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was the first overall pick back in 2021 out of Clemson. "How do we make Trevor Lawrence and this offense as dynamic and explosive as we can be? We've got to build it around him, we've got to make every part of this about improvement, and he will be a part of that process," Coen said. "He's earned that right. I cannot respect his toughness and mentality and work ethic more than I do already from afar. This will all be about Trevor." The 25-year-old so far has not lived up to his draft stock in four NFL seasons, and he played in a career-low 10 games in 2024 due to shoulder and concussion issues. Lawrence's fantasy stock has never been lower, but Coen's bright offensive mind should give him an opportunity to bounce back as a QB2 in 2025.

According to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud, Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen is considered a favorite for the Jacksonville Jaguars' head-coach opening, and he could possibly be offered the job as early as Wednesday when he has a second interview with the team. The Jags are looking for a new coach after firing Doug Pederson following a 4-13 record in 2024 in his second year with the team. In addition to Coen, Jacksonville has second interviews planned with Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham on Thursday and former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh on Friday. Stroud writes there's a growing belief it's Coen's job to lose. The 39-year-old impressed the Jaguars in his virtual interview a week ago and is the most equipped to resurrect the career of quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Under Coen, Baker Mayfield had a career year with the Bucs in 2024.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Doug Pederson after a disappointing 4-13 season. In three seasons with the Jaguars, Pederson led them to the playoffs once and finished with an overall record of 23-30. Pederson seemed to acknowledge that the firing was coming, so the team will look for their next coach through this offseason. Their general manager, on the other hand, will stay with the team for the time being. Reportedly, the new head coach won't go through Trent Baalke though, they'll report directly to owner Shad Khan. The team has some enticing pieces on offense with Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr., and Evan Engram, so this could be a valuable situation for free-agent head coaches.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) underwent surgery on Tuesday to fix his left AC joint sprain and is expected to return for spring workouts, according to head coach Doug Pederson. The Jaguars had to wait for Lawrence to clear the league's concussion protocol before he was cleared to go under the knife for his shoulder injury. The 25-year-old former first overall pick was placed on Injured Reserve on Dec. 4 and will obviously miss the rest of what was an extremely disappointing season in his fourth year in the league. In single-QB leagues next fall, fantasy managers will be avoiding Lawrence everywhere after he completed only 60.6 percent of his 284 pass attempts for a career-low 2,045 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 10 starts. He finished as the QB7 in 2022 and as the QB12 a year ago before bottoming out in 2024.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson confirmed on Friday that quarterback Trevor Lawrence (concussion, shoulder) will have surgery to fix a sprained AC joint in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. However, Lawrence must first clear the league's concussion protocol before surgery is scheduled. The former first overall pick out of Clemson suffered a scary concussion in the Week 13 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans and was placed on Injured Reserve. Although Lawrence would be eligible to return in the Week 18 regular-season finale, the Jaguars are shutting him down for the season and will have him undergo surgery on his shoulder. The 25-year-old should be fully ready for the start of the 2025 season next fall, but after a very disappointing 2024 campaign, Lawrence will probably go undrafted next year in standard 12-team, one-QB fantasy leagues.

Dynasty | The Jaguars have placed quarterback Trevor Lawrence on IR. Dynasty Analysis: Lawrence suffered a concussion on an unnecessary hit last week in the game against Houston and it looks like his season is over. He'll also reportedly need surgery to repair the damage to his AC joint, an injury that happened earlier in the season. It's unfair to say Lawrence is breaking down, but it is fair to say his future is murky. The "next big thing" at quarterback now has just 69 touchdowns and 46 interceptions through his 60 career games and the injuries are starting to pile on. Considering he'll likely again have a new Head Coach and offense, Lawrence is looking a lot more like a QB2 than a QB1 in dynasty leagues at this point and his dynasty value will likely slide this off-season.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (concussion, shoulder), who was put on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, will miss the rest of the season and is expected to have surgery to fix a significant AC joint injury in his left (non-throwing) shoulder in the coming weeks, according to sources. Lawrence is expected to make a full recovery for the 2025 season. In addition to his shoulder ailment, the 25-year-old former first overall pick suffered a concussion on an illegal hit in the Week 13 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans on Sunday. It ends a disappointing fourth season in the NFL, as he'll finish with a 60.6 completion percentage for a career-low 2,045 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 10 starts. While Lawrence should be ready for Week 1 of 2025, he won't be more than a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes. Mac Jones will now start the final five games for the Jags in 2024.
From RotoBaller
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (concussion) was placed on the injured reserve. While Lawrence could return for their final game of the season in Week 18, fantasy managers should not plan on him suiting up as the Jaguars are far from playoff contention and may opt to rest their franchise quarterback. Lawrence sustained this concussion last weekend during their loss to the Houston Texans. Fantasy managers should expect former first-round selection Mac Jones to serve as the QB1 for the remaining five games, with C.J. Beathard serving as the backup. Jones received two starts earlier this season and averaged 124.5 passing yards per game with a 0:3 TD:INT ratio. Jones should only be viewed as a desperation QB2 in deep Superflex formats.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that quarterback Trevor Lawrence (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol and will not practice on Wednesday. It doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Pederson said earlier this week that the team still hasn't decided if Lawrence will even be able to play again in the final five weeks of the season after suffering a scary concussion in the Week 13 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans on an illegal hit by linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. The 25-year-old former first overall pick stayed down on the ground for a while and had to be carted off the field. Especially at 2-10 on the year, the Jaguars have no incentive to rush their franchise signal-caller back, so Mac Jones is likely to make his third start of the year this Sunday versus the division-rival Tennessee Titans. In addition to a concussion, Lawrence played through a sprained AC joint in his left (non-throwing) shoulder last weekend.
From RotoBaller
Per Kainani Stevens of the team, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, concussion) has had no decisions made about "if/when he will return this season." It's concerning news for Lawrence, who lasted only 19 snaps before exiting Sunday's outing after an unnecessary late blow to the head. That's on top of the shoulder surgery he's potentially still due for despite stating that he wants to play the rest of this season. It's truly a mess of a situation. With the 25-year-old still in the league's protocol, he may miss Week 14's matchup against the Tennessee Titans. If he does, teammate Mac Jones projects to serve in his stead again. Watch for news on Lawrence over the next few days ahead of the team's road tilt.

Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair is expected to be suspended by the league for the hit he delivered in the Week 13 win over the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday that left quarterback Trevor Lawrence (head) concussed. It was a pretty clear cheap shot with Lawrence already giving himself up in the middle of the field on a slide. Lawrence's arms stiffened up after the hit, and it was pretty obvious that he suffered a pretty serious concussion on the play. The former first overall pick stayed down on the ground as trainers came to examine him before eventually being carted off the field. Before being ejected from Sunday's game, Al-Shaair had five tackles on 19 defensive snaps. It remains to be seen how long the 27-year-old will be suspended, but Houston's defense will most likely be without him when they face the Miami Dolphins in Week 15 after their Week 14 bye.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (concussion) is now in the NFL's concussion protocol after taking a cheap shot to the head as he slid at the end of a run. The former number-one overall pick took to Twitter/X and said that he is home and alright, so that comes as good news for the Jaguars. Ian Rapoport says that they still don't know when Lawrence will return as of right now, so fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for updates as the week progresses. Mac Jones will likely be under center for any games Lawrence has to miss.

Dynasty | Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was forced from a loss to the Texans with a head injury. Dynasty Analysis: Lawrence was making his way back from a shoulder injury only to be the recipient of what many are calling a dirty hit. Regardless, Lawrence took a shot to the head and was quickly ruled out. This has the looks of another round of missed practices and possibly missed games for the hard-luck Lawrence, who was attempting to slide before getting plowed into. Lawrence has been up and down and while this won't affect his dynasty value much, the idea he was the next big thing at the position has pretty much quieted to a silence.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (concussion) exited Sunday's game against the Houston Texans after taking a nasty hit. The signal-caller missed the Jags' previous two contests because of a shoulder injury. Unfortunately, he wasn't on the field long, finishing with only 41 yards and one pick off 4-for-10 passing. Head coach Doug Pederson was understandably disgusted with the play that resulted in his quarterbacks premature departure. He also revealed that Lawrence is now in concussion protocol while being unable to offer more details. At any rate, there's a chance Lawrence could miss time, meaning Mac Jones, who threw two touchdowns in Week 13, could find himself back under center versus the Titans.
From RotoBaller
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (head/concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. As he tried to slide for a first down, Azeez Al-Shaair delivered a cheap shot straight to Lawrence's head. The Jaguars retaliated for the dirty hit while Lawrence had to be carted off the field and will be tested for a concussion. Mac Jones has taken over under center for the rest of the game.
From RotoBaller
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. He had been listed as questionable, and while head coach Doug Pederson acknowledged Lawrence wouldn't be 100 percent, the expectation was that he would be able to play. His return to the lineup gives the Jaguars a break from Mac Jones, who delivered zero touchdowns and four interceptions as the team's fill-in starter. Lawrence should be treated as a mid-range fantasy QB2 this Sunday.
From RotoBaller
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is expected to take the field for the Week 13 matchup against the Houston Texans. Lawrence is listed as questionable but head coach Doug Pederson said he expects Lawrence to play. It's worth noting that Lawrence isn't 100 percent healthy yet and the team hasn't ruled out offseason surgery. He hasn't suited up since Week 9 and Lawrence wasn't playing great before that game. Fantasy managers should consider Lawrence a QB2 for his first game back, assuming he's able to play.
