Much like his rookie season last year, Buffalo Bills second-year wide receiver Keon Coleman showed inconsistency in mandatory minicamp practice this week, according to The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia. Coleman has shown the ability to make big plays occasionally, but then he'll have regrettable reps that question his ability to be a consistent playmaker for the Bills. The 22-year-old's on-ball concerns and his intermediate to deep separation skills are things that he will have to improve on if he wants to take the next step in 2025. He had only 29 catches for 556 yards and four touchdowns in 13 regular-season games in 2024 but also dealt with a chipped bone in his wrist that affected his production down the stretch. The former second-rounder could be more effective in a bigger role this year, but the addition of Joshua Palmer could also be hindrance.

The Niagara Gazette's Nick Sabato writes that Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman (wrist) had a promising rookie season derailed in 2024 due to a chipped bone in his wrist that he suffered in Week 9. Coleman missed the next four weeks and had only seven catches on 21 targets for 139 yards and one touchdown in the final four games of the regular season. The 22-year-old former second-rounder (33rd overall) was used as a deep threat for quarterback Josh Allen and caught just over 50% of his targets on the year. He finished with a 29-556-4 line in 13 regular-season games (12 starts). Amari Cooper is now out of town, but Coleman will battle for targets alongside newcomer Joshua Palmer and Khalil Shakir. The addition of Palmer could actually open up Coleman for more of an underneath role, but he'll still be nothing more than a late-round flier in fantasy drafts as WR depth.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman had a modest rookie season after being selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Michigan State and Florida State product tallied 29 receptions on 57 targets for 556 yards and four scores. He ranked eighth among all NFL wideouts in average target distance (15.2), so he could develop into a legitimate deep threat for quarterback Josh Allen. So far this offseason, Coleman is drawing positive reviews. "When he came back, he was in really good shape," head coach Sean McDermott said. "You could tell he had been working drill-wise, weight room-wise, so really proud of what he's done to this point in the offseason." The sky is the limit for Coleman while catching passes from the reigning NFL MVP, and tight end Dalton Kincaid has not become Allen's go-to target as many expected when he was taken in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. At Coleman's WR5 price in half-PPR setups, he presents potential strong value for fantasy football.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman caught just one of his four targets for 12 yards during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie endured highs and lows this season, but most fans and fantasy managers would be quick to admit that they expected a little more out of Coleman during his rookie campaign. After all, he was the first pick in the second round of the draft, making him the Bills' highest wide receiver selection since 2014. Through 16 games between the regular season and playoffs, he caught just 32 of his 65 targets (49.2 percent) for 578 yards and four touchdowns. Coleman currently projects to be the Bills' No. 2 receiver alongside Khalil Shakir next year, but Buffalo may be tempted to bring in some star power at the position after coming up short in the playoffs once again.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman continues to be an unreliable fantasy option ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie has progressed throughout his first season in the NFL, but he still remains an inferior option to Khalil Shakir in the Bills' passing attack. Coleman has just two catches over his last two games, totaling a mere 10 yards. He typically operates as a deeper perimeter threat within Buffalo's offense, which has added another layer of uncertainty to his profile. For example, he was targeted 57 times during the regular season but hauled in just 29 of those passes, giving him a concerning 50.9 percent catch rate. In fact, he had five catches on 17 targets between Weeks 17 and 18. His increased volume in those games was promising, but targets don't generate fantasy points. Until Coleman can start catching more passes on a consistent basis, he's tough to trust in fantasy football. That point is accentuated this week against the Chiefs, who have been incredibly stingy against players like Coleman. Kansas City allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to receivers operating out wide from Week 12 through Week 17.
From RotoBaller
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman, who appeared to be separating himself from the pack before his wrist injury, is now a part of the problem. The Bills have a crowded wide receiver room and Josh Allen tends to spread the football around. Coleman has caught eight passes in the last five games, and just one for five yards in the Wild Card victory over the Denver Broncos. Still, the rookie may be the most dangerous downfield threat of the bunch. He is tied for the team lead for receptions longer than 25 yards (six) and trails Mack Hollins in receiving touchdowns (four). Coleman is a boom-or-bust DFS option with a low output more likely.
