Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) underwent surgery Monday, Dec. 16, to repair the torn labrum in his shoulder, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Fantasy Spin: Engram probably will miss a majority of the offseason workouts because of the surgery but likely will be ready for training camp next season. Brenton Strange played well in place of Engram last week and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues.

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) underwent surgery on Monday to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder. It was already announced that Engram would miss the rest of the 2024 season with his injury, but head coach Doug Pederson said he is expected to be back for spring workouts. The 30-year-old was placed on Injured Reserve last weekend, officially ending his season. After a career year in 2023 with the Jags in which he caught 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns, Engram finishes 2024 with 47 catches, 365 receiving yards and only one touchdown in nine starts. It just wasn't meant to be for Jacksonville this year, and it didn't help Engram's cause that quarterback Trevor Lawrence couldn't stay healthy. Engram will be heading into the final year of his three-year, $41.25 million extension in 2025.

Dec 14 3:23pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Fantasy Spin: Coming off a career year, Engram had a disappointing 2024 campaign, but some of that had to do with the dumpster fire the Jaguars' offense has been as a whole. Jacksonville does not have a viable replacement on its roster for fantasy managers to turn to.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 4:53pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 13, and has been ruled out for Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: Engram will miss the rest of the season, so fantasy players can drop him from their roster. Brenton Strange likely will be the main tight end for the Jaguars for now but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 11:03am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum that will require surgery.

Fantasy Spin: Brenton Strange is next up on the depth chart. The 23-year-old former second-rounder out of Penn State has a 23-256-2 line on the season. He could be a low-end TE1 option in good matchups down the stretch.

Dec 13 10:50am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) requires surgery and will miss the rest of the season, according to J.P. Shadrick of the Jaguars Radio Network. The veteran was second on the team with 64 targets and 47 catches in just nine games played. It's yet another blow for the Jags in a season full of them, as the team also has spent significant portions of the year without stalwarts like quarterback Trevor Lawrence and linebacker Foyesade Oluokon. Now, as the Jags play out the string behind backup quarterback Mac Jones, they'll turn to tight ends Luke Farrell and Brenton Strange to replace Engram. Neither should be on the fantasy radar for the rest of the season, even in deep or TE-premium leagues.

Dec 12 4:53pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Spin: It seems like Engram is facing an uphill battle this week, but fantasy players will know more about his status over the next day. Brenton Strange likely will be the starter for the Jaguars if Engram sits out but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Dec 12 4:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) remained sidelined during Thursday's practice. Engram will now have one more opportunity on Friday to return to the field to potentially avoid an injury designation. Head coach Doug Pederson noted earlier in the week that he expects his top tight end to be ready for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. However, fantasy managers should pay close attention to Friday's injury report, as Engram may have faced a potential setback. Last weekend, Engram brought in four of his six targets for 33 yards. While he has not produced as well as he did last season, the veteran tight end is still seeing a high volume of targets (7.5 per game), which should make him a low-end TE1 in all matchups. This weekend, he faces a tough New York secondary that has allowed the seventh-fewest PPR points to opposing tight ends this season.

Dec 11 4:13pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation to see if Engram will be able to play in Week 15. He has been held to under 50 yards in all but one game this season but can still be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most leagues if active.

From TheHuddle

Dec 11 1:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) will not practice with the rest of the team on Wednesday, but head coach Doug Pederson expects him to play in Week 15 against the New York Jets on Sunday. It appears that Engram's shoulder injury isn't serious enough to keep him out of action this weekend, but we'll keep a close eye on his status the rest of the week. As long as the 30-year-old veteran returns to practice in the next two days, he'll be on track to be active for fantasy managers against the Jets. With quarterback Trevor Lawrence (concussion, shoulder) out for the year, all of Jacksonville's offensive weapons will have a lower fantasy floor and ceiling for the final four games of 2024, including Engram. In the Week 14 win over the division-rival Tennessee Titans, Engram had four catches for 33 yards.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 7:13pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) suffered an unspecified shoulder injury during the Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans, head coach Doug Pederson revealed on Monday, Dec. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Pederson did not go into detail about the severity of the injury, so Engram's status is up in the air. Jacksonville will release its first injury report on Wednesday. Engram is a TE2 option if he suits up.

From TheHuddle

Dec 9 12:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram had a quiet day against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14. He finished with four catches on six targets for 33 yards. It was always possible for Engram to have a quiet day with backup quarterback Mac Jones under center. 7.3 PPR fantasy points isn't the worst for a tight end but falls well below expectations for a player of Engram's caliber. Jones spread the ball around for most of the game, but in the fourth quarter, homed in on rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who led the team with eight receptions and 86 receiving yards. As long as Jones is under center, it will be hard for multiple receivers to thrive, especially if he has more zero touchdown games. Engram will look to improve on a solid but underwhelming outing in Week 15 against the New York Jets.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 4:33pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram caught four passes for 33 yards against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14. He was targeted six times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Engram has been targeted at least six times in each of the last five games but has been held to under 50 yards in all of the games. He should see a decent amount of targets next week and can be a starting option in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 8 11:13am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram was fined $11,255 by the National Football League for committing unnecessary roughness during the second quarter of Week 13's game against the Houston Texans, when LB Azeez Al-Shaair was jumped by Engram following his hit on QB Trevor Lawrence.

From TheHuddle

Dec 7 11:30am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram should serve as a safety valve for Mac Jones in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans, despite their 3-9 record, have been good against the pass in fantasy, both against tight ends and wide receivers. However, that shouldn't stop Engram from having a decent day, especially in PPR leagues. Last week against the Houston Texans, Engram produced seven catches for 41 yards. He led the team in receptions but was well behind Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr. in receiving yards. That trend could continue given Engram's role in the offense, making him more touchdown-dependent than usual. The good news is Jones was able to throw two passing touchdowns last week after none in his previous two starts. Engram should be viewed as a low-end TE1 in Week 14.

From RotoBaller

Dec 2 11:30am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram finished with seven catches which led the team in Week 13 against the Houston Texans. While from a PPR standpoint Engram's performance was solid, he only had 41 yards and no touchdowns, so better efficiency and red zone usage will be necessary for sustained fantasy success going forward. Trevor Lawrence struggled early then went down with a concussion late in the first half, leading to Mac Jones taking over for the rest of the game. Jones played well, throwing two touchdowns but neither to Engram unfortunately for fantasy managers. Engram has never been much of a downfield threat, and that will certainly continue with Jones under center and rookie teammate Brian Thomas Jr. thriving on deep balls. The Jaguars face the Titans in Week 14, where Engram will look to continue his TE1 level of play.

From RotoBaller

Dec 1 8:53pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram caught seven of his nine targets for 41 yards in a 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 13.

From TheHuddle

Dec 1 2:40pm ET

Correcting a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram actually remained in the game against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Engram was flagged for retaliating against Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair for delivering a dirty hit on quarterback Trevor Lawrence that knocked him out of the game. Engram was not, however, ejected from the game. Al-Shaair and cornerback Jarrian Jones were ejected instead. Quarterback Mac Jones will be under center while Engram tries to get some revenge in the scoring department.

From RotoBaller

Nov 30 10:20am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram could return to TE1 form in Week 13 against the Houston Texans with the potential return of Trevor Lawrence at quarterback. Mac Jones hasn't played well enough in Lawrence's absence, holding the entire offense back in fantasy. Engram hasn't surpassed 50 yards receiving since Week 6 in London, but has been heavily targeted over the last three weeks with 25 combined targets. The last time the Jaguars faced the Texans, Engram was out with injury, so his presence should provide a new look for the Jaguars offense the second time around. Upside is the main thing fantasy managers should be looking for at tight end, making Engram a decent option as a low-end TE1 with solid upside in Week 13.

From RotoBaller

Nov 18 7:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram hauled in five of his seven targets for only 28 receiving yards in the 52-6 loss to the Detroit Lions on the road on Sunday in Week 11. Outside of rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who had five catches for a team-high 82 yards, nobody in Jacksonville's offense was able to produce much on a day where the team was held out of the end zone and quarterback Mac Jones threw for under 150 yards. The good news for the 30-year-old veteran tight end is that his seven targets and five receptions were both tied for the team lead with Thomas. He's also had three straight games with at least five catches, although it hasn't come with much yardage. Hopefully for Engram's sake, he'll be taking passes from quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) again after the Week 12 bye, which would vault him into firm TE1 range in fantasy.
